If you have been with me for a while you may have seen that in the past I have re-published some works by ancient writers, namely the Golden Verses of Pythagoras and the Enchiridion of Epictetus. It has been a while since I’ve produced one of these, despite it being fun and rewarding work and getting good feedback on the quality of the volumes.

I decided to take such products back up and return to publishing under Heliotroph Books, starting with this newest volume: The Complete Works of Julian, the famous Pagan revivalist Emperor of late antiquity.

After consulting the stars and factoring in time for the final proof copy to arrive and be checked, I have settled on SEPTEMBER 23 as the launch date.

This compilation of translations contains every single surviving word ever written by Julian, including apocrypha attributed to him, PLUS three works by his christian detractors and three works by his pagan allies.

It turned out pretty massive at 600 pages in 7x10" format. Because of the high printing cost it will run for $27.99 US. Believe it or not this is still actually the cheapest way to get Julian's complete works in print, as the equivalent Loeb edition takes up 3 whole volumes at 30 dollars each.

So for a third of that price, you can have the complete Julian plus relevant works of Ammianus, Libanius, Gregory Nazianzen, and Cyril of Alexandria.

The Kindle edition, in order to match royalty margins, will be $13.99, which is still 8 dollars less than the Loeb ebook.
